Easy Installation. ASPProtect can be used in any virtual hosting environment that supports Microsoft ASP and Database connectivity. Most do, so just check with your hosting company. To install ASPProtect you simply upload the ASPProtect scripts to your web, you then have your hosting company set the necessary permissions on the Data folder, you then configure some settings, and you are ready to use ASPProtect. We have done everything possible to ensure that ASPProtect Version 8 will run under any type of IIS server configuration and situation.

Easily Password Protect any vbscript ".asp" page.

Optional use of 8 Built in Access Levels allowing you protect pages and organize users based on their level of access. This feature is leftover from previous versions for backward compatibility. The new Groups feature is much more powerful and flexible..

Optional use of Groups. Groups are much more powerful than Access Levels and with Groups you can do very complex login scenarios. You can create an unlimited number of groups and any individual user can be a member of up to 60 Groups. You can protect pages by Groups that are allowed and if you like you can check the session variable for Groups manually and only show links and areas based on what the logged in person has permission to use/view. Groups allow for extremely flexible options as far as who has access to what.

Protection Code Generators. Handy wizards that create the code you need to paste into your existing ".asp" pages to protect them.

Passwords and Cookies are encrypted using separate keys individual to each customer install. See Database Screenshot.

Our login system is secure against SQL injection attacks. Many of our competitors systems are not.

Ability to protect other files types to a certain extent other than just protecting the viewing of the ".asp" pages. We provide working example code showing you how to protect images and file downloads in your protected ".asp" pages. You can protect nearly any type of file from downloading and viewing. (gif, bmp, jpg, zip, exe, pdf, rar, mp3, etc..) Please realize this protection is not foolproof because you can never completely protect a file or image download because of the nature of the web. You can however add some security to file downloading and image viewing instead of just leaving everything out in the open.

IP Restriction System.
This allows individual IP's and IP Ranges to be banned from accessing protected pages.

Highly optimized mass emailing and newsletter sending code... the system now sends emails in batches and allows you to select how many messages you want to send at once.. this is very helpful because using ASP you can usually send no more than 300 emails at once without getting a script timeout error.. this solves that issue...

CJWSoft Captcha Security Image
This adds a Capcha Security Image to the registration signup form which will help to reduce automated spam submissions by bots and what not.

Username/Password Input Field Focus
This makes the input curser start off in the Username field text box when the Username/Password form loads up. This saves the need to click in the field with the mouse to start typing.

Indemnification Agreement
This adds an Indemnification Agreement Pop-up to the registration signup form which must be agreed to before continuing. This is often done for legal reasons to help cover yourself if something should come up later on.

Password Email Confirmation
This will change the basic registration pages so that the email address and password entered must be confirmed when signing up. This eliminates the auto generated password during signup.Some may prefer it working this way.

Advanced Database Logging System
This allows the application to store extended login details in the database. It improves the power of the logging dramatically. If you are worried about log in abuse and need extended information about the users logging in this is a must have.

Password Expiration System
Security is a big concern and making your users change their password every so often is a good idea. Keeping track of previous passwords they used and making them choose something they haven't used before takes the concept even further. This Mod will add a password expiration date to the application. When the password expiration date is hit the user must confirm their old password as well as pick a new one before they can log in again.

Ability to set the amount of times a user can log in. Once they hit their limit the system sets them as inactive.

Optional Cookie Remember Me Option so users don't have to log in every time they come back to your protected pages.

Users can register themselves. User registration area has configurable form validation. There are 6 additional built in custom fields that you can enable and label however you like. This allows you to easily add custom fields you may need without having to do a lot of work.

Users can edit their registration information should you want them to be able to do that.

Optional Automatic Registration Approval Option where the system automatically activates the user.

Optional Manual Registration Approval Option where they are not active until you manually activate them.

Optional Automatic Registration Via Email Validation Routine where user must respond to email that is sent to them before they are activated.

User Information is available throughout the user's session. You can access that information at any time on any of your ".asp" pages. You can use that information to create dynamically created pages based on what user is logged in.

Email users of the system. You can email an individual user or all users at once. There is a built in newsletter system. The newsletter Feature allows you to send newsletters to those subscribed. When emailing users the system can automatically generate a message notifying the user of their username & password. You can email Username & Passwords to multiple users at once. There is an ability to Email users soon to expire .There is an Email Forgotten Password Feature. There is HTML emailing when using CDOSYS. This includes an inline html editor so you can send out some very professional looking emails.

ASPProtect Version 8 supports a huge amount of emailing components so chances are your covered especially since CDOSYS is installed on all servers by default.
